Seeing our gerbils having good health, active and happy are Nezumitaro's goals.  A natural balanced diet is the key to these goals.  Below is a list of yummy food we can provide for our gerbils.  Fruits and Vegetables sparingly given are also a good source of nutrition for our gerbils.

Prestige Premium Nature

Natural Rolled Oats

Oats, just like fresh fruits and vegetables, contain phytochemicals, which are naturally occurring chemicals found in plants. In particular, contain a large number of flavonoids, which are powerful antioxidants that may help protect cells from the process of oxidation.

Millet Mixed

Although millet is most often associated as the main ingredient in bird seeds, it is not just ‘for the birds’. Creamy like mashed potatoes or fluffy like rice, millet is a delicious grain that your gerbils would love.  It is a good source of some very important nutrients, including manganese, phosphorus, and magnesium.

Millet spray is a good and healthy treat for all gerbils.

It is taken to calm nerves, improve blood quality and cure insomnia - hence its title, 'food of harmony'. High in vitamin C.

Dry Lily Bulbs

Modern research has found that lily bulbs contain a variety of substances that can promote health and well-being. In addition to proteins and starches, lily bulbs have small amounts of calcium, iron, phosphorus, and vitamins B1, B2 and C.

Alfafa Sprouts

Alfalfa sprouts are abundant sources of vitamins A, B, C, E and K, the minerals calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium and zinc. Also carotene, chlorophyll, amino acids and trace elements. They contain 35% protein.

Eggs

Eggs are one of nature's most perfectly balanced foods, containing all the protein, vitamins (except vitamin C) and minerals essential for good health.

Plain / Egg ToFu

Tofu is a very good source of protein, specifically soy protein, as well as numerous other nutrients necessary for good health.

Sunflower Seeds

Mother Nature has created a nutritional power pack that is hard to beat in sunflower seeds. Healthy unsaturated fats, protein and fiber, plus important nutrients like vitamin E, selenium, copper, zinc, folate, iron and phytochemicals come wrapped up in this small and perhaps unsuspected package – a sunflower seed.  A fattening treat, but your gerbils love it.

Australia Premium Whole Grain Cereal

is contents of Rolled Oats, Wheat Bran, Dried Fruit 30% (Sultanas, Paw=Paw, Sliced Dates, Pineapple, Raisins, Curreants, Banana Chips (honey), Diced Apple, Diced Apricots, Nectarin, Peach), Sunflower Seed, Buckwheat Kernels, Linseed and Psyllium Husk.

Dhal

Dhal have high vitamin C content than the normal seed. Other vitamins that show an increase are B complex vitamins and folic acid.

Sesame Seeds

Sesame seeds are an extremely good source of calcium, it also have high amounts of protein, phosphorous, iron and magnesium.

Pearl Barley contains about 80% of starch and about 6% of proteins, cellulose.

Garbanzo Nuts provide fibre, complex carbohydrates, protein, trace elements, vitamins, lecithin and linoleic acid.

The poppy seed contains extensive quantities of calcium.

Coix seed / YiYiRen

Coix seeds serve several functions. To stimulate function of the spleen and lung, remove heat and induce diuresis.
